"JUST DO IT" Anyone who has bought Nike produces has heard this slogan. It is one of Nike's core messages. They apply it to working out or training. But it can be applied to anything including writing. A lot of people are waiting for inspiration to strike before they start writing. If you wait for inspiration before you start writing you will never finish your project. Writing is work. You have to write when it's painful and boring and impossible. There will be times when you open that document and that blank page scares you. But you can push through. Just copying down a chapter from a book you love is a good start. Keep yourself writing. Practicing the motions even when it feels bad. Athletes don't always feel like working out, but they do even when when it hurts even when it's hard. They keep working to be the best they can be. So should we. There doesn't have to be inspiration for you to write. Inspiration makes writing easy, but if writing good books were easy everyone and they're second cousin would be publishing. Hard work is what makes a good product. Good athletes don't wait till they feel like it before they train. Nether should we. Just do it. Just write. Like running a marathon one step at a time. One word after another.
