Doubt

You open that notebook or bring up that document on the computer and stare at it for 10 minutes till you give up and go do something else.  Writers block.  That's what most people call it.  But what really kept you from writing?  Your hands still work.  You can still write.  You know what your writing.  So what stopped you?  Over the summer, I heard an author talking about writers block and I agree with what he said.  It's not a lack of inspiration or anything like that.  It is fear.  Fear that you won't say the right thing.  A lot of people don't ever write their book because of fearing that it won't be good.  Or like me a few times this year, they know it won't be good.  In Luke 21 Jesus was talking to his disciples about the persecution that would come at them and in verses 14 - 15 He said,

"14 So don't worry in advance about how to answer the charges against you, 15 For I will give you the right words and such wisdom that none of your opponents will be able to reply or refute you!"

He will give them the right words.  Why wouldn't He give you the right words?  God said in Philippians 4:13 that "(we) can do all things through Christ who strengthens (us)."  You don't have to write alone.  Don't worry about how you'll say it.  Ask God to give you the words and let it go.  Don't let doubt hold you back.
